Sofia Hamilton is a Research Associate within the Cato Institute's Department of Health and Welfare Studies where she focuses on poverty issues related to housing and welfare programs. Sofia is a recent graduate from the University of Miami where she majored in Political Science and History and minored in International Studies and Sociology. While at UMiami, Sofia worked with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors to advocate for essential benefits for military families and veterans. These experiences have instilled a passion to rework the American welfare system to provide needed programs while still ensuring the financial efficiency of the government.
