I will be speaking at the Atlas Network’s Liberty Forum next week at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Hotel in New York City. The topic will be “Think Tanks vs. Populists of the Left and Right,” a wide-ranging conversation about the growing threat of illiberal movements in North America, South America, and Europe.

The panel will set the tone for a new initiative that Young Voices will be announcing soon, the Free Society Fellowship. At Young Voices, we seek to make the moral case for the policies of a free society versus the dangers of tribalist politics.

Session A: Think Tanks vs. Populists of the Left and Right

Location: Times Square Ballroom A, 2nd Floor

The world is witnessing an authoritarian populist surge. Our challenge is not only to promote free markets but also to counter a global movement led by people who actively reject the ideas of liberty. In this panel, Atlas Network partners will share about how they are working to combat the new authoritarianism and to stop the rise of illiberal statist sentiment.

Moderator: Casey Given (Young Voices, USA)

Speakers:

Veronika Fajbíková (Institute of Economic and Social Studies, Slovakia)

Rocio Guijarro (CEDICE, Venezuela)

Javier El-Hage (Human Rights Foundation, USA)
