I am thrilled to announce that Young Voices has elected a new President of our Board of Directors, Jared Meyer. As an alumnus of our program, Jared knows Young Voices inside and out. He serves as a senior fellow at the Foundation for Government Accountability, where he researches the economic effects that various government regulations have on labor markets. Check out his biography:

Jared is the coauthor of Disinherited: How Washington Is Betraying America’s Young and the author of How Progressive Cities Fight Innovation and Uber-Positive: Why Americans Love the Sharing Economy. Jared’s research has been published in outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, New York Post, and National Review. He has appeared on many radio and  television shows, including the BBC World Service, ABC, Fox News, and NPR. Meyer is also a member of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 for Law and Policy.

Prior to joining FGA, Meyer was a fellow at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research. He has also worked as a research assistant for the political philosopher Douglas Rasmussen. Meyer received a B.S. in finance and a minor in the philosophy of law from St. John’s University in New York City.

During his tenure as an Advocate from 2013-2014, Young Voices booked Jared’s first radio appearances and scheduled him to speak at several of Students For Liberty’s Regional Conferences. Jared has this to say about this appointment:

“Young Voices offers aspiring writers and researchers the crucial opportunity to get their first publications and media hits. It has been exciting to watch so many talented individuals grow their careers by utilizing Young Voices’ resources. As the organization continues to adapt to better serve Advocates, we will see more voices for liberty across a wide variety of media platforms.”

I’m excited to work with Jared in the coming months, mapping out Young Voices’ future spreading the message of liberty far and wide with our growing network of millennial writers.
